Punta Cana: more than just a Spring Break destination, now a new found battlefield!

When you think of Punta Cana, many think of a beautiful strip of beach perfect for rest and relaxation, or of a pristine destination to take your significant other on a honeymoon made in heaven, but it is also a rapidly growing Spring Break hotspot for college students nationwide! Eleven members of the StudentCity sales team journeyed down to the Dominican this past weekend to “familiarize” themselves with the destination.

However, it was not all smiles and frozen drinks with little umbrellas for this group! Chauncey and Theresa, two team members who have not seen eye to eye for quite some time, decided to duke it out in the resort’s casino! After Chauncey crapped out on the crap table, Theresa chucked her Malibu and Diet (with a twist of lime) at him because she had a large bet on the table, and then proceeded in telling him how she really felt… “You stupid wanker, f*%& you Chauncey!” (Theresa is obviously from the UK.)

While the others watched hysterically at the two bantering back and forth, there was one gentleman, Hector, who did not find comedy in having Malibu all over his authentic Daddy Yankee concert tee! He got up screaming obscenities in Spanish at Theresa and grabbed a deck of cards from the blackjack dealer, flung it at her, connecting solid with her face! Next, he took the waitress’ tray, full of drinks, walked over to the poor shell shocked, young little Theresa, and dumped the drinks over her head. StudentCity’s team members chanted his name in praise as he was quickly escorted out of the casino by security.

It gets better; Chauncey had been “hipping and hooraying” with Hector all night after each good win they had. The casino manager thought they were together and awarded him with all of Hectors winnings, a little over 1000 pesos. Chauncey felt bad that he had come up in the world while Theresa was standing there covered in aces and Red Bull vodka. He apologized to her and handed her half of Hector's money. The two went over to a table, both bet it all on black, and lost! They did manage to settle their differences and remained friends for the remainder of the trip. Word in “StudentCity-land” is that they brought Sexy Back to Punta Cana that night!!!
