StudentCity to appear at the MTV VMAs . . . Seriously!

Beyonce, Ludacris, Timberlake, Shakira, Axl, Paris, 50, Snoop, Diddy, and Bill and Bryan from StudentCity! Well, it's not like they are performing or presenting or anything, but thanks to our friends at MTV, Bill and Bryan will be there!

It all started in the summer of 1999, at the Isle of MTV in Nassau, Bahamas. Bill and Bryan went over to check out what MTV had going on and ran into the casting director for all the MTV shows in the Bahamas that summer. For the rest of that summer, students traveling with StudentCity appeared on all of the shows taping in the Bahamas, like TRL and MTV Jams. As time went on, the relationship between MTV and StudentCity escalated, and now (actually since SB2001) StudentCity is the official provider of contestant travel for MTV Spring Break.

So on Thursday, August 31st, check out the MTV VMAs and keep an eye out for Bill and Bryan at the biggest party of the year, well, except for Spring Break!

Spring Break in Cancun is Back!!!

Just 5 minutes ago, I saw Pepe Escalante, the Sales Manager of Bulldog in Cancun, strolling through the hallways of the StudentCity.com office. Pepe came north to figure out plans for Spring Break 2007. He also mentioned the complete remodeling Bulldog has just gone through! It is now bigger, meaning more people can enjoy the parties, has new sound and light systems, a new jacuzzi, and the hottest VIP section in article from the Rocky Mountain News to see how Cancun has rebounded.

Memories of a past Spring Break!

I’m sure plenty of people can say what I’m about to say, “I saw some naked booty on Spring Break!” But it wasn’t the kind of naked booty we all hope for. In fact, it was the opposite of hot booty; it was hairy, 60 year-old, crack-exposed booty.
Now, it’s hard to say how this man escaped from the institution in which he resided, but everyone was pretty much in agreement that the Florida beaches were scarred by the site! The man stood at the top of the beach, waving his tattered American flag, while yelling. Of the 15 people that I was at the beach with, we still cannot agree on what exactly he was yelling. He then made his approach through the crowd, as his shorts began sliding slowly down, cinching in between his legs, until we had full sight. In the final moments of glory, he sat at the edge of the tide, unfortunately pulling his shorts down further, and row, row, rowed his imaginary oar and invisible boat (yet very visible crack) out into the ocean. It was hard to turn away, and not look. The entire beach – hundreds, probably thousands of people – sat in awe, cheered, and took pictures of this poor man, who probably was so drunk he thought he was in his bathtub.

Spring Break Come Early at Indiana University!

Why wait until March to get in your spring break element? Bradford Place Apartments, located on the campus of Indiana University, brought spring break to Bloomington, IN mid summer. The student apartment complex kicked off the new school year with a HUGE pool party featuring all the faces and events you see down in Mexico with pool party sponsor StudentCity.com. Even B97 Radio showed up to do a live broadcast. This party was out of control.

Former MTV Real World celebrities Alton, Ace and Ruthie all joined in on the fun. Ruthie and Alton even jumped in on the local rap battle, and held their own! Ace, from MTV Real World Paris, hosted the Miss Bikini USA Model Search where IU’s hottest girls won cash and prizes for strutting their stuff. StudentCity.com Campus Manager John Balicki gave away a Free Spring Break Trip away to the winner of the Hot Body Contest, a contest spectators will not soon forget! Lots of food, booze, and contests made this event one of the best parties Bradford Place has ever had according to management!

Vacation of the Mind Tour

Coming soon to a campus near you! StudentCity is proud to announce that we have teamed up with Contiki Holidays and Chase and their new +1 program to bring Damian the Hypnotist and his Vacation of the Mind Tour to 50 different colleges and universities this fall. Damian's hypnotist shows, as seen on MTV's Spring Break, are completely interactive with the audience and 15 to 20 volunteer on-stage participants who are hypnotized to perform different skits for a unique, dynamic and exciting form of transcendental comedic entertainment. At all tour stops, students will have to opportunity to sign up for a chance to win free spring break trips from StudentCity.com. The tour kicks off on August 27th at St. John's University in Queens, NY and will be visiting schools in Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and West Virginia.
